This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) describes the manner in which BigOmics Analytics SA (“BigOmics”, “we,” “our” or “us”) and our website at http://www.bigomics.ch (the “Site”), as well as all related social networks and platforms provided by us and on which a link to this Policy is displayed (collectively, together with the Site, our “Service”) use and collect data from individuals (collectively referred to as “information”).

Please read the following carefully to understand how we collect and use your information. By using our Site and Service, you acknowledge you have read and understood this privacy policy.

Information We Collect:

  • User-provided Information. When you use the Service, we collect and associate with your account, the information you provide to us when you do things such as sign up for your account, upgrade to a paid plan and set up two-factor authentication (such as your name, email address, phone number, payment info and physical address).
  • Your datasets. Our Service allows you to upload your datasets on our platforms to analyse your data in a simple and safe way. After uploading your data, a binary object is pre-computed to enable fast and interactive visualization and exploration of your data. Note that a binary object is not stored on our servers during the pre-computation phase. You have two options:
    • Download your datasets to your local computer. This option guarantees you that your data will not be made accessible to us and other users of the platforms.
    • Store it on the cloud. This enables easy and frequent access. You can store your data for free of charge with our Basic edition. However, please be aware that your data will be available for other users as well. If you want your data to be privately stored on the cloud, please subscribe to the Professional edition.
  • Cookies and Automatically Collected Information. When you use the Service, we may send one or more cookies – small text files containing a string of alphanumeric characters – to your device. We may use both session cookies and persistent cookies. A session cookie disappears after you close your browser. A persistent cookie remains after you close your browser and may be used by your browser on subsequent visits to the Service. Please review your web browser “Help” file to learn the proper way to modify your cookie settings or change your preferences by clicking the link at the bottom of our website. We use cookies to provide, improve, protect and promote our Service. For example, cookies help us with things like remembering your username for your next visit, understanding how you are interacting with our Service, and improve it based on that information. Please note that if you delete, or choose not to accept, cookies from the Service, you may not be able to utilize the features of the Service to their fullest potential.
  • Device information. We also collect information from and about the devices you use to access the Service. This includes things like IP addresses, the type of browser and device you use, the web page you visited before coming to our Site or after using our Site, and the dates and times when you visited, accessed or used the Site and the Service. We also may use these technologies to collect information regarding your interaction with email messages, such as whether you opened, clicked on, or forwarded a message. Your devices (depending on their settings) may also transmit location information to the Service.
  • Information from Other Sources. We may obtain information from third parties and sources other than the Service, such as our partners.
  • Marketing. We give users the option to some parts of our Service free of charge. This free Service is made possible by the fact that some users upgrade to one of our paid services. If you register for our Service, we will, from time to time, send you information about upgrades when permissible. Users who receive these marketing materials can opt out at any time. If you don’t want to receive a particular type of marketing material from us, click the ‘unsubscribe’ link in the corresponding emails.

Your Choices

  • You may request access to and receive information about the Personal Information we maintain about you, update and correct inaccuracies in your Personal Information, restrict or object to the processing of your Personal Information, have the information anonymized or deleted.
